The most interesting man in the world (Dos Equis)

I'm really liking this ad campaign from Dos Equis (even if their beer is undrinkable!). Some great lines and the guy just nails it. Anyone else?

I love these ads. Some of my friends don't... but they are pretty dense.

Undrinkable? Are you out of your mind? Both the amber and the special lager are excellent beers.

Re: The most interesting man in the world (Dos Equis)

i can't drink it anymore. i've tried and tried over the years because so many of my friends drink it. i've decided that i shouldn't have to try that hard. i also question how much some of my friends like it, considering the amount of lime they've got goin on in there!

I, too, think the campaign is great. I haven't seen it in awhile and thought it was dead. Glad to hear it's back.

It was an interesting contrast to the terrible Tecate ads last summer with the forced accents and dull witted characters.

I like dos equis but who drinks it while wearing a tux? If you're gonna go all out then it's scotch time.

part of what makes him so cool is that he says this:

"I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis"

When it comes to beer, give me mexican, or if you don't have that, give me whatever else you've got.

Somebody ought to tell whoever makes those ads that they don't really celebrate cinco de mayo in Mexico.

Best ad campaign in a while.

P.S. I have a friend who thinks Dos Equis is undrinkable. His beer of choice is Bud Light in a can.

I'm going to the "most interesting evening" tonight that is "in memorium of Steve, the assistant to the most interesting man in the world." Free food, beer, and (I'm told) Carmen Electra. A good ad campaign indeed.

Who had the money for Dos Equis in high school?

I drank whatever I could get my hands on, which was generally Natty Light, Busch, or Miller High Life. I occasionally still enjoy all of the above, except Natty. Yuck.

So what if it doesn't taste good without a lime. I don't like a hotdog without mustard either. The great thing about XX is that you CAN add lime. Have you ever tried adding a squeeze of lime to your bud-light? I also enjoy my Sunshine Wheat with a squeeze of orange... nothing is more refreshing after a hot summer day.

I drink it sans lime all the time (I rarely have limes at home). Tastes fine to me.

Re: The most interesting man in the world (Dos Equis)

This will be a complete hijak of this thread... but whatever.

I have a real problem with people telling me the lighter beers like XX are for amateurs and heavy german beers are for real beer drinkers. If you've lived in Texas your whole life you've grown to realize that after spending a long hot summer afternoon mowing your lawn... nothing goes down better than a cold frosty mug of corona or XX with a squeeze of lime. I try and I just can't handle drinking a thick glass of beer when it is warm outside. It just doesn't feel natural. And for those that haven't tried a Sunshine Wheat with a squeeze of orange... you are missing out.

OK... I'm off my soapbox.
