First, you would be smart to read and understand the Posting Guidelines. I'm only interested in authentic requests for reinstatement. I also get these requests quite often. While this may be a big deal to you, it isn't to me. It isn't personal. Don't waste your or definitely my time with insincere or obtuse remarks. I respond to PMs and emails because it is my responsibility to do so. The longer an exchange goes, the less likely you are to convince me that you will be a productive member of HornFans in the future. Some hints: Don't ask me what guideline you violated unless you truly have no idea. Don't bother trying to argue that the guideline isn't applied consistently. Others did worse is no excuse. Understand that profanity is allowed on this site, personal attacks are not. Understand the difference between the two and don't ask for me to explain it to you. Don't try to parse the Posting Guidelines as if they were the Constitution. There is some very broad language that will cover basically any behavior that I deem to be counterproductive to this site. An honest apology will go a lot further than an antagonistic tone. I'm married to a lawyer. I'm used to arguing with him. The guidelines are not a legal document. Not being able to post on a website isn't a criminal punishment, so don't try to argue this as if we were in court. It is probably a very bad idea to attempt the "Moderator X is out to get me" tack. In the history of HornFans, I have never found this to be the case. You can try it, but I'm just warning you now that you had better have VERY good evidence that this is the case. Calling me an Aggie, a Nazi or comparing the policies of this site to TexAgs is not a good way of requesting reinstatement. It has been tried before. It doesn't offend me, but it doesn't indicate to me that you are remorseful for violating the guidelines or have any intention of following them in the future. Using the Notify Moderator button in an attempt to show some sort of administrative hypocrisy is a very bad idea. Do use the Notify Moderator button if you see something that violates the Posting Guidelines. I'll appreciate it. You'll get brownie points. If, however, it appears that you are doing it as some sort of political statement against the administration of this site, you won't be doing yourself any favors. Probably if you just got banned, you are pissed off. Venting to me is not a good idea if you ever want to post on HornFans again. You are welcome to go out in a blaze, if you want. Just know that I'm less sympathetic to people who are unable to control their emotions, both on the board and via PM or email. I'll be less likely to reinstate you, not because I'm offended, but because you've shown me what you are capable of and I'm less likely to trust that you will be a productive HornFans member in the future. You don't get credit for good behavior. If you've been a problem poster, your history is carried with you. You don't get "credit" for 6 months with no warnings, if you've had a lot of them in the past. Registering a new username is a very bad idea. I don't spend my time trying to track down additional aliases, but if you get caught doing it, you will lose any chance of reinstatement. On the other hand, you may well be one of those people for whom everything is a joke and who tries to get by on their charm and "aw, shucks" attitude. Banishment isn't a joke. Telling me to lighten up is not likely to convince me that you take your violation of the Posting Guidelines seriously or that you are committed to following them in the future. Neither is trying to charm your way out of it. Speaking of which, I don't care if you are a sponsor. If you are a sponsor, I appreciate your support. I also made it very clear that you are required to follow the guidelines like everyone else and you won't get any special treatment because of your sponsorship status. You don't have to like me. I don't have to like you. You don't have to agree with the guidelines. You just have to follow them. If you don't want to follow them, don't post here. There are other websites. Go find one to your liking. Open one of your own. Seriously. I don't care. With that said, I'm very sympathetic to sincere apologies and promises to follow the guidelines in the future. That is all I need to reinstate your account. Feel free to email or PM me to request reinstatement.
