7 innings and over 100 pitches. Cant be shocked he ran out of gas and got knocked around to end the game. This one really hrts and if it means a Knebel who is ineffective for several weeks the effects will be long lasting.
Used to be in Fort Worth now living in the Cayman Islands and loving life.

Three hits, an intentional walk, and a big error on Etier leads to three runs. The game ends on a two out bases loaded single and Tech wins 7-6
Agonizing and just a terrible loss. You hold Tech to 4 runs for 13 innings and you have to win, simple as that.
Have to win tomorrow with no Knebel. I feel sorry for that kid, pitched great and gets the lead and potential dp ball is kicked.

I can't believe Etier let that ball eat him up. He must have felt like crap. Oh well. Nice dogpile, Tech. Do you practice those just in case?  
Now let's steamroll them today and win the series.

Yes, as an old former infielder I can tell you he really let that ball "get in on him " as coach use to say. Got to either charge that ball or lay back to get the right hop. It was right at him and should have been able to read it well.
Just getting the lead man would have been fine on that play, if nothing else and would have changed the outcome.
It happened though and that's baseball. The real issue was not scoring 5 or more runs on that Tech pitching staff in 13 innings!

I was at the game.
The police had a busy night. They had to get the hecklers away from the team after the game, escort the team to their bus while Augie gave his quick post-game interview, and escort the bus away from campus.
And the dogpile...

Wow, just wow!! I remember being at a football game there where the police had to escort the band bus away. The band?? Seriously! Great fans.
