Pay up or we go SEC
In reply to:
Baylor, Missouri, Iowa State, Kansas and Kansas State — had agreed to give up their parts of the departing schools’ fees to the “big three” to make sure they reached the $20 million.
Beebe said Tuesday that Texas and Oklahoma had declined that offer from the five schools, but that A&M — whose athletic department is in the early stages of paying back a $16 million loan to the university — had not.

When they said this were they doing that thing where they snap their fingers as they wave hand in a zig-zag motion in front of their face then end up with their hands on their hips?

Aggy stayed in the Big XII to get out of debt and now they want to get their money, I actually dont have a problem with this.
We can laugh at them for being dumb enough to get that far into debt in the first place but not when they make a business decision to get out of that debt and now they expect parties to live up to their obligations. Thats the first smart thing they have done in this whole process.
The fact that Texas and Oklahoma were smart enough to not to have to borrow money and now do or dont want the extra money shouldnt matter.
Used to be in Fort Worth now living in the Cayman Islands and loving life.

I agree. I think this is actually the smartest thing aTm has done in a while.
They need the money and they are going to get it. If we were in the same position I don't think Deloss would blink at taking the money and I would expect him to pocket it and run. It's good business for the Ags.
That's one of the main reasons aTm stayed and now they are just expecting what they were promised. Kudos to them.

The remaining Big XII teams are really going to be a friendly group of brothers, aren't they? Aggy may be entitled to their lucre, but they aren't making any friends lately.

Yea, I guess Baylor, Missouri, Iowa State, Kansas and Kansas State don't need money anyway. To me it's about doing what's right and fair. It's like some dumbass that overloaded his ass with a heavy mortgage on a home that was too big for his needs, accepting a handout from someone living in a small apartment. [censored] aggy

No, it is more like someone (Beebe) who bought a house for $20,000,000 and then during closing tells the mortgage lender (A&M) he is only going to give them $15,000,000 for it.

1. Uh, who's in debt?
2. Smart sellers always qualify their buyer
3. Like aggy had a choice of going anywhere without either Texas or oklahoma

So what is fair about Aggy being promised $20 mil per year and then them not getting it because of what is 'fair'? No one every said it was fair. However, the Big 12-2 promised it to them.
Many people think our revenue sharing model isn't fair. I say tough sh!t. It's business. Maybe things will have to change to keep this conference afloat.
But right now, it is uneven sharing and aTm is going to get what was promised to them.

Part of the arrangement in the Big 12 surviving, as ABC/ESPN and Fox Sports stepped up financially (verbally to this point), hinged on league heavyweights Texas, Oklahoma and A&M each receiving $20 million annually in coming years, thanks to upgraded TV deals for the conference.
Texas and oklahoma may not get the full $20 million either, but you don't see them crying like little [censored] or expecting the have-nots (Baylor and all) to pay up.

to clarify:
1) much has been made of the 16 million dollar loan. the university gave it to us when we were heavy into facilities construction (specifically our indoor practice facility, and our new basketball facility as well), so we were cash poor. the loan is 0% and is being paid off. we're not running in a deficit.
2) i believe ray liotta said it first. his four words were then adopted by several rappers, including yung joc and gucci man. those four words, which is basically what loftin is saying are "[censored] you pay me".
ou and texas are in position to turn down the money because they will get at least 20 mil this season through tv appearances. we are likely not in that position, therefore we are holding beebe's feet to the fire to make sure we get ours. should we not get our money, i think we'll see the A&M to the SEC move picking up steam.
i wish it was more politically appropriate for our president to say what he's really thinking, because i feel confident that those four words would succinctly deliver his message.

we don't care where it comes from, he promised us $20M now give it to us. If he has to take it from the other schools that is his problem no ours.
