Re: Cory Redding [re: Lone Star]

We got the biggest kick out of taking a picture with your family at the Hornfans tailgate. I remember sitting at pre-season practice, and hearing your family talk about how you had a brother at UH, and you can just see how proud they are of you both. Good luck in the pros, and come back and say hi sometime at a tailgate party. Hook 'em!

You're one of the best athletes and finest young gentlemen to wear a Longhorn uniform. We all have enjoyed and appreciated your contribution to the football program, and your memories will live on. Enjoy the rest of your college career and best of luck in your future endeavors which should include a long stint at the next level!

CRedd - I had the pleasure of meeting you at a party over the summer. Thanks for coming to Texas and I hope you go onto a great career. Remember the little guys who you met at parties when you're making your millions and trying to decide what to do with all of it. Hook 'em!

Corey, thanks for being one of the true leaders on the team. I've really appreciated having you on the team and the fire and intensity you bring to the field. I look forward to seeing you take on similar roles in the pros, and I hope that you pass that fire and attitude onto your younger teammates for the seasons to come.

Cory, you've always been a horn filled with tenacity and passion. You've been a great mentor to the younger guys and a reason why we keep bringing in great groups of kids. No matter who where's your number in the future, I will always remember 40 as Cory Redding.

Re: Cory Redding [re: Lone Star]

Cory,
My husband and I first met you on a very cold day in College Station in '98 as we huddled around Robert and Katy's grill with your Mom and Tyrone. Since then I've had many enjoyable conversations with Mary and our daughter even became email pals with your niece after they met at a baseball game. All I can say is I hope my daughter can make me as proud as I'm sure you've made your parents. Keep being an outstanding individual!

Re: Cory Redding [re: Lone Star]

Cory...
Don't ever lose your fire. You have been awesome to watch. You bring the passion and excitement to the game that I wish that everyone would. If we could have eleven players on the field at the same time waving their arms for crowd noise, then doing their job, and celebrating afterwards, I woould feel a lot more comfortable with our defense. I am very proud of all of the guys, but you have that extra something that really is hard to match. Have fun in the NFL. Some just collect a paycheck up there but it will be fun to watch you go out each game with a lot more insentive than that. You obviously love the game of football and I know that will never change.

For never complaining despite being asked to shoulder a tremendous load. For always bringing it. For playing with pride and making me proud. For the work you do in the community and for representing like no other, thank you. God Bless and the Eyes of Texas will always be watching you.

Cory, you will be missed both on and off the field for many years to come. Your leadership and excellence in all that you did were inspiring, to say the least.

Thanks for a great run, and good luck to you and your family (the games won't be the same without them in the crowd) in all of your future endeavors.
