Re: Lee Jackson [re: LonghornGirlie]

I'll never forget the incredible hit you (and Greg Brown) put on that Stanford receiver in the '99 game. One of the few clean hits I've ever seen to knock a receiver out cold.

I later heard that you "grieved" about it afterwards and during the game. I was suprised to hear that, but to me that really displayed a great deal of character and decency. Some players showboat and taunt after delivering "cheap shots", but you showed genuine concern for an injured opponent even after a perfectly clean, legal hit. It's something we don't see enough of these days.

Thanks for everything you've done for our program, and I'll look forward to seeing you dish out more incredible hits at the next level.

So many memories of your great play at safety and LB will linger long after you leave campus. Thanks for being such a class individual and class player and for representing the University in such a class fashion. Good luck and best wishes.

Lee, I worked with a UT team tutor who worked with you a couple of years ago, and she told me how special of an individual you really are. You've impacted many lives of people you've never even met, and I just want you to know that God will bless you for the kind of person you are and the life you lead. Everyone can learn something from you. I heard somewhere you might become a teacher? That seems like a perfect fit. Thanks for being a longhorn, Mr Jackson. Hook 'em!

Lee, it hasn't always been easy or gone the way you wanted it to, but you bore it all with a great deal of hard work and class and that is something that I will always admire about you. What you do on the field says a lot about you, but the way you carry yourself off the field is more important and that is something you have always excelled at. God bless you always and congratulations on your time here as a Longhorn. You will be missed. Now let's light up the ags!!!! Hook 'Em! ~ Robert

Congratulations Lee for the outstanding career you've had and also for the flexibility you showed while playing for the Longhorns. And thanks for the leadership you provided to the young players on this years team. They looked up to you because you were a senior and you did not let them down.

Best wishes to you in the future.

Lee I don't know if hard work and perseverance was something you brought with you to UT or something that just came out of you here on the 40 Acres. Your attitude and work ethic are a testament to your character. I know that you have made the fans proud so I can only imagine the pride your friends and family must feel in your accomplishments.

Keep working hard and persevere!
