Re: Derrick Johnson [re: LonghornGirlie]

There come very few Heisman-worthy defensive players, you DJ are easily one of them. Thanks for remaining another year and making this one of the best years ever. See you on Sundays...

Simply put, DJ, I think you are one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, defensive players ever to put on the burnt orange. It was a pleasure watching you play over the years. Thanks for all that you did, and for giving us FOUR great years! You will be missed!

I really enjoyed watching you for the past few years. I was really happy to see you carry on the tradition of wearing number 60. I have never seen anyone more deserving of that honor than you. I know that you continue to do us proud on Sundays next year. Hookem DJ

I remember your first game and telling my dad that I thought you were going to be something really special.

Talk about an understatement!

You rank as my favorite Longhorn ever! Thanks for sticking around and making the defense really nasty this year.

It's a cliche, but it in this case it couldn't apply any better. It's been an honor and a privilage to watch you play. Thank you for your four years of dedication!

Re: Derrick Johnson [re: dpool2002]

When you were a freshman, I saw you play just 1 game and predicted you'd be great enough to be mentioned in the same breath as Nobis. To say that you proved me to be right is a gross understatement. Thanks for playing here, thanks for staying one more year, and best of luck in the NFL, DJ.

One day it will be an honor for a Texas linebacker to wear #11 also.

DJ,

You're the best LB I've ever had the privelage of watching play the game. It's been an honor to watch you man-handle opponents. Good Luck in the NFL. The Eyes Of Texas will be watching proudly.

Re: Derrick Johnson [re: LonghornGirlie]

After watching DJ in a high school playoff game against Tyler, where DJ and Aaron Ross were both the stars that day, I knew he was destined for greatness.

To have a player as good as DJ stay at UT for FOUR years AND be a man of good character and giving back to the community has raised the bar for those that follow you DJ, possibly moreso than will ever be attained. You're one of a kind. Like many others, I look forward to seeing you on Sunday's. Best of luck.

P.S. Stay involved, no matter how little you think you can, with UT and our continual uprise. You're a big part of why we're where we are today.

DJ,

WOW you have given me plenty of football excitment over the past few years ! what an awesome way to end your college carrer then to wear #60 and give Reggie and crew a hard time and a win over the aggies over past several years.
You are one of the best LB's I have ever seen and I wish you the best of luck in your future.
God Bless and Hook'em Horns

Re: Derrick Johnson [re: LonghornGirlie]

Thanks DJ for staying for that senior year and giving us more memories. I appreciate that you didn't leave for the early money. Now after whatever bowl game we go to, good luck in the draft. Thanks for that tribute to Tommy Nobis. Lots of class there.

Most likely, DJ early in the first round of the NFL draft highly likely.

Eliminate the BCS, institute the playoff ASAP, keep the bowls for the teams not in the playoff

Re: Derrick Johnson [re: LonghornGirlie]

DJ,
You ARE the best football player in the land this year and it will simply be one hell of a disgrace that you will not be invited to New York to accept what truely should be yours-The Heisman Trophy. But remember this you have given the 40 acres more than it could possibly give you in riches beyond trophies as we as a HORN Family are truley blessed and honored to call you OUR Family. Thank You

Re: Derrick Johnson [re: LonghornGirlie]

DJ, I never saw Nobis play, but I went to school with Hager and have seen a few good LBs at UT over the years. You will be the new standard all future LBs will be judged against at the 40 acres.

Thanks for the big hits and bigger heart.

Re: Derrick Johnson [re: LonghornGirlie]

Thanks for your highlights and your fantastic play. Thank for coming back this year and keeping tradition of Horns coming back for their senior year. I know you would have made millions this past year, yet you chose inmortallity in the hearts of many people here at UT. Thanks for your generosity and will follow your success to the NFL. Do you have a favorite NFL team? Thanks.
