Derrick Johnson is a man child.

Looking forward to when incoming LB recruits will aspire to be the next #11.

DJ is truly one of the best linebackers ever. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to this school. Your legacy will carry on long after you leave. If they gave the Heisman to the best player in college football, it would be going to DJ.

Thanks for all the memories, DJ. I still remember that freshman running around knocking the hell out of everyone on the field. Texas won't ever be able to replace a player like you who gave it all on every play. I hope you keep close ties to the UT family & try not to hit Roy W too hard next year.

You came in a man among boys, you leave the best player in college football. Period.

By far the best defensive player I have ever seen wear the burnt orange, you were a class act on and off the field. Thank you for being such a fine representative of the University.

Go DJ thats my DJ!
Dude, that is my new favorite song because all I see is you knocking the hell out of someone when I hear it. The first play I recall is the big sack in the Holiday bowl your freshman year. There have been so many since. Best of luck in the NFL. I hope the Texans can get you. You could do some serious damage in that 3-4 defence.

Re: Derrick Johnson [re: LonghornGirlie]

DJ,

Years from now, the Longhorn faithful will still be talking about the way you played and how you were among the greatest ever to don the uniform of the greatest University in the land. Someone else posted that you are a big reason why the program is where it is today, and that is true. New recruits will come here and aspire to follow your shadow. It's a testament to your talent, drive and desire to be at that level.

The Longhorn Nation is proud of you, and thinks you and Ced should've been invited to New York instead instead of those toothless sooners with exaggerated numbers.

See you on Sundays! The world is in your hands, DJ.

DJ my favorite thing about you was that in pictures and on the field you were intense and scared the crap out of your opponents but for us Horns we all know that you are awesome and soft-spoken. I will never forget when you were hunting down Reggie and he froze with fear and curled into the fetal posistion when he saw a #60 hurtling towards him. Awesome career here

Re: Derrick Johnson [re: LonghornGirlie]

I remember watching you, as a freshman, during an open practice. A older gentlemen behind us pointed you out and told us how great you were going to be. I feel so lucky to see you start out good and turn out spectacular. Thanks for all the hits and hurries. You are the best!

You'll be my first NFL jersey ever if you go to one of the teams I like. I'll always go for you... Like in the pro bowl.
