Will, You are the man! I don't think you ever got enough credit here. You were the man that opened huge holes and gave us great 3rd down conversions on many short yardage plays. Thanks for working so hard and always playing with such great intensity. You were great to watch these years. Thanks and we look forward to seeing you on Sundays for many years, (hope you play for the Texans). Thanks!

Much of our success on offense the past couple of years can be traced back to your ferocious blocking. You've made all of us here in Westwood Country proud!

Will, Thank you for being a great asset to the team. When ever we had 3rd and short I would say "Put Matthews in" and bam ! you'd plow through the defenders and get us that first down.
You were such a awesome "go to guy" and a real team player. The past few years has brought me a lot of Longhorn football excitement.
Best of luck to you in the future , God Bless and Hook'em Horns !

Will, with the exception of Ricky (who I never thought of as a fullback anyway), you are the best FB I've ever seen at UT. You are the total package, and it's been great watching you play. I'm sure you'll be a big hit at the next level. Good luck.

Awesome career.
I am sure you will get the call to hand out the pain on Sundays. I have really enjoyed watching you crush people. Can't wait to follow you ibn the NFL.

Will,
I was sitting with you at the SAE house telling you how you ran over my ass in a HS football game when somebody knocked over the bar we were sitting in.
Everybody was like, "What the [censored] is your problem? That's Will Matthews in there!" Nobody seemed to concerned about me.
Glad you didn't get hurt and had a great career for Texas. Last year's OK State game was amazing.
The backfield won't be the same without you next year.

Between Will and Vince, 3rd or 4th and 1 was basically an automatic first down.
Great job with all the lead blocking and unsung hero-ish shoving and buttwhooping of defenders to let Ced make the most of his running ability. Sure he can knock guys out of the way, but it's great how often you give him 1 or 2 fewer guys to do that to.

2 and 1, Its Headache time.
Way to go WIll. You were a great player and an amazing lead blocker for Benson. His success was also your success, don't forget that.
Also when you did get to run the ball, you did a great job. Along with catching passes.
Thanks will for knocking the living crap out of opposing linebackers, you will always be remembered for that.
Good luck in the rest of your life.

It is men like #37 who make good teams great... the unsung heroes who are willing to do the dirty work while their backfield-mates get all the publicity and headlines. It was his job to ram into D-lineman and LB's to clear a path for Cedric and Vince. And Will did it superbly.
I hope Benson gave you at least a piece of the Doak Walker trophy.
I hope you have a long and succesful NFL career. And an even better life after. Thank you.
