NBA: Thanksgiving Week

I like the Spurs tonight -3 and the Hornets again -5. NO is too good a team to stink up the floor two nights in a row even in a back to back situation. New Orleans -5

Also leaning Atlanta a pick becaue Boston is just playing so poorly right now and they are old in a back to back game situation.

Re: NBA: Thanksgiving Week [re: general35]

I can't NOT go against the Spurs period. They've burned me a couple times with my guy who I normally follow...but if he's against the Spurs I'll either lay off that game or go with the Spurs. They're a covering machine lately.

I like Denver. Although Golden State did get thoroughly embarrassed last night by the Lakers. I hate betting the NBA. I am terrible at it.

Chaz, your guy is on fire. Keep 'em coming. I really liked Denver, so I pounded that one. Also took Clips, so it was a good night (along with my CBB picks).

I wonder if we should combine the threads next week in a Mixed sports thread (or do one CFB and one mixed sports). You, me, and general are the main guys who post in these threads anyway.

Re: NBA: Thanksgiving Week [re: general35]

I'm curious who your guy likes tonight Chaz. I'm leaning Atlanta, New York and Lakers in NBA. Spurs won last night. I should have taken Boston but they have been so inconsistent lately, I couldnt pull the trigger.

Re: NBA: Thanksgiving Week [re: general35]

FYI, Chelsea -2 in Champions League looks good today. They have their Group wrapped up, but Zilina is horrible (given up 15 and scored 1 in 4 CL matches).

Re: NBA: Thanksgiving Week [re: general35]

I'm afraid to take Chelsea. They have played so piss poor the last two weeks getting flat out beat bad by PL mid level teams. Maybe they take it out on them.

I have heard Chelsea is sitting a lot of regulars today, they have the group locked up. They should still win but not sure if they will win by 3.

Re: NBA: Thanksgiving Week [re: general35]

I loke Roma today. They have played much better the last month and Munich is sitting a lot of players and not traveling with them as they have the group locked up.

I also think their is value with Real Madrid. Ajax is playing bad and RM can lock up their group with a win. They are playing their full squad apparently and they do not play Barcelona until Monday. I think their is also value with Arsenal. They have to win. They destroyed Braga 6-1 last time out or something like that.

Re: NBA: Thanksgiving Week [re: general35]

Not sure on the sitting players aspect. I have heard differing reports. Both reports I have seen show Chelsea and Bayern both playing a mix of regulars and back-ups, but mostly regulars. I locked in the over in BM/Roma. Roma needs to push and I think BM gets a goal on a counter. See a 2-1 type of game.

Zilina is absolutely horrid. The Chelsea back-ups could beat them 4-1. Mid-leve EPL teams could kick the [censored] out of Zilinia. I like the Chelsea -2. It is an easy way to get well when things are not going your way - beat the [censored] out of a Slovakian team.

With all that said, I have been really bad in soccer this year. I think I have been OK on the few plays I have posted on here. But not doing well overall. Did really well last year but cannot find the magic again.

Re: NBA: Thanksgiving Week [re: general35]

me too. a lot of inconsistent play this year. about the only league playing true to form is the spanish. i play a lot of unders in the italailian league and that has gone well. epl has been very hard, as has germany.

Re: NBA: Thanksgiving Week [re: general35]

Yeah, except Barca losing to Hercules at home in like week 3 or 4 (that killed me).

Probable starting lineup for Chelsea (from covers). Drogba and Malouda. No Anelka or Terry. Back up GK. Ramires is really good as a backup. He will be a stud.

Probably Chelsea Line Up

Goalkeeper: Ross Turnbull

Defence: Jose Bosingwa
Defence: Jeffrey Bruma
Defence: Branislav Ivanovic
Defence: Patrick Van Aanholt

Midfield: Joshua McEachran
Midfield: Ramires
Midfield: Florent Malouda

Forward: Didier Drogba
Forward: Gael Kakuta
Forward: Daniel Sturridge

Re: NBA: Thanksgiving Week [re: general35]

i had barcelona in a parlay when they lost to hercules....that was awful, but they are on a roll the last 6 weeks and have killed everyone. unfortunately, i can only get a moneyline in chelsea. my guy will not post lines in these games and i dont feel comfortable laying -700. im sure you will win though. good luck.

Re: NBA: Thanksgiving Week [re: general35]

Stopped laying big ML on soccer a long time ago. Learned the hard way on that one. Just have to find good goal lines and cap it hard and hope for a blow out.
