texags on shermie's recruiting
|
| |
Just took a peek at texags forums, especially one where
the aggy are encouraged by Sherm the Sleeper's recruiting
and saying he needs at least five more years.
This, in spite of the fact that their very own Billy Liucci's
top 44 rankings show only three of that group commited to
aggy. And the first one doesn't show up until #20.
I say, yahoo, keep Sherm the Sleeper (btw, that nickname
was given to Sherman awhile back because in spite of the
fact that he cannot attract top-rated talent he obviously
(snicker) evaluates and recruits 'sleepers'.). Gag 'em aggy!!!

My personal opinions:
Recruiting has died under Sherman!
This is Shemans fourth recuiting class, and he has yet to commit and sign since his hire in 2007, a single four or five star high school senior for the positions of Quarterback, 2 Defensive End positions, 3 Linebacker poitions, 2 Cornerback positions and 2 Safety positions?
We will have up to 80 mosty 2 and 3 star players Sherman has personally evaluate and signed on the field this fall and there will be another 13 seniors like JJ and Von Miller for leadership!
I expect a 3-9 record this year with Sherman's terrible coaching and worse recruiting!

The Aggies aren't world beaters, but this is just silly.
Colt McCoy when asked about Bob Stoops possibly giving tips to Alabama: “Haven’t we beaten them the last two years?”

My personal opinions:
You Figure?
Remember, A&M's record last year was just 3 wins and 10 losses!
A&M only took credit for 3 more games when:
Tech lost both starting quarterbacks the week before playing A&M, with a broken leg and a concussion?
Iowa State lost their starting quarterback, starting runnng back and one other starter to injuries, the week before the A&M game!
And baylor lost their starting quarterback with a broken leg for the A&M game, and Griffin, as a true fish, had A&M down 0-41 before halftime the previous year? He's back!
Greenbay complained that Sherman lost multiple games over the years just because of Sherman's inability to instill team discipline, and his inability to evaluate player personnel.
Nothing has changed that, at A&M
And RC and the wrecking crew still have a terrible overall big 12 record of a .603 winning percentage against other big 12 teams on the record books; and Sherman's overall record against big 12 teams is a worse .312.

Miller is an Aggie, and that is as optimistic as he gets.
You know at times I wish the aggs were a powerhouse like in the 90s. But then those feelings leave me quickly.
Sherman will never bring them back, he doesn't have it. The Aggs need some guy who is country as hell, someone with a little more fire than talent. I think Houston Nutt would have done a better job than mike or fran.

Miller is not an aggy, and I make it a point not to read a word (s)he posts anymore. I recommend doing the same.

I think those guys are nuts. May is way too soon to judge a class that won't sign til February or be reasonably expected to contribute before Sept. 2012. Sure Mack and Rivals agree on a lot of great players and have them headed for the 40 acres. But TCU has built a national powerhouse with guys that Mack, Rivals, Scout, Lemming and a lot of others overlooked or rated at 2 or 3 stars. Sherman has recruited terrific athletes in the OL and running back. Aggie strength at the skill offensive positions may be the best in the Big 12 next year. Also, in major college football all wins count as wins, doesn't matter if opposing QBs are hurt. Ask Alabama.

There are fans for every team just like him. He loves them so much that they will never meet his expectations. Don't confuse hypercritisism of your team for disloyalty.

Judge for yourself how aggy is doing based on their own Rival site's list.

Aggy Yell Top 125 is a telling list which tells me 2 things... 1. that it is too early to judge a class at the very end of May... and 2. when many of the top recruits are making commits to other teams and you only have 1 in the top 50 (at # 40), it's very easy for the other top recruits still uncommitted to see the trend and not give Aggy/Sherm their due and go else where!
Aggy is in the "here we go again" mentality and I don't take any joy in that! Well... maybe a little!!

You can also see the one from the Texags Moron & White Report.

Not a lot to say about that list other than it is horribly depressing.

As much as I appreciate luicci, I wish I had not clicked on this thread.
In reply to:
Is there anyone on this list who has us as their favorite? Looking at the list of schools for each recruit, it appears that A&M is no higher than third in any one of these kid's list.
In reply to:
Just brutal
In reply to:
I really hope something special happens to shake this list up. I know everyone says Sherman knows how to evaluate players but I'm don't wanna bank on him finding 11 diamonds in the rough when these players are all off the board
As the saying goes, "now that's an ass kicking!"

My personal opinions:
Here is a clue for my football disfunctional Ags and others, as to how bad we really are, and how many years more we will be very very bad?
Sherman was hired in 2007 and is in his fourth recruiting class.
Sherman has evaluated and signed up to 80 players, that will be on the field this fall plus 13 seniors?
There is not a single four or five star high school senior among these up to 80 Sherman evaluated and signed, that played Quarterback, either defensive end, 3 linebacker positions, 2 corners or 2 safety positions.
Sherman will not play winning big 12 level offense and defense, until we commit and sign 4*/5* players for these 10 positions; and give them a couple of more years to mature to 12 level players ?
The players for these 10 positions this year, are already committed to, or leaning to other teams, so we fail for the fourh recruiting class in a row and up to 80 players later, to get a big 12 level winning defense and big 12 level winning offense?
It will take another, some future(?) year, to recruit them; and a couple more years after, for the recruits grow up to the big 12 winning level?
But the big question is will we get these 10 positions filled next year, or the next, or the next, or when(?) and adding on a couple of more years to mature, we are losing our rears for many, many, many more years, without a big 12 level winning defense and offense!
Will the small depleting handful of four and five star players we have now, be gone by the time we get these ten players?????
Add on a coach who can't instill team discipline and can't evaluate players, to a coach that can't recruit; and an empty Kyle Field, until we have a coach that is functional at the big 12 winning level, is the only real answer, "IF WE REALLY WANT TO WIN?", or is the real purpose just to sell season tickets to challenged disfunctional football Ags?

That's a funny picture of J.W. Walsh on the moron and white report. I thought the kid has really strange hair. Then I realized there was a tree behind him. Perfect setup. The mind plays tricks.
If nothing impresses me, I'm signing (with A&M) on national signing day."

That picture describes Sherman's four years of recruiting,
exactly!
CB Tevin Mitchell 6-1 170 4.4 was offered by Mike Sherman.
CB Tevin Mitchell 6-1 170 4.4 was offered by Bo Pelini.
CB Tevin Mitchell 6-1 170 4.4 just chose to play for Bo Pelini.

I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some people out there in our nation don't have maps and, uh, I believe that our, uh, education like such as in South Africa and, uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and, I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., uh, or, uh, should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future, for our children.
