I'm hearing there is going to be a bit of a surprise to go along with naming Karen Aston head coach......watch.....this should be interesting....

Outlook, that really isn't fair! I can't even watch the press confernece, unless it's live on Texassports. Or maybe one of the local stations will carry it on their website, I can look around to see if that's happening. But I assume it will be live on LHN, which means I may have to wait for it to be posted on Texassports later. Can you at least say if the surprise is a co-head coach, or is it something else altogether?

Does the clarification you just received mean there isn't going to a surprise at all, or just not to the degree you initially thought? Can you tell us that much at least.

Sorry about all of that. I heard something interesting, and not related to Pat Summitt. At this point I'm not sure exactly what it means, or if there will be an answer in the press conference. Like most news it would make some people very happy, and some very upset....

I think Jody is already a special assistant to the athletic department, and has stayed actively involved in the program. So would that really be a surprise? Now, if she came back as a co-HC, that would be a real surprise. An amazing, fantastic, wonderful, joyous surprise! But having Jody around in any capacity is always a great thing. Oh well the press conference should start in about a minute, so we should know more shortly.

Well, that became kind of a belated April Fool’s joke for me. I still think there is something to the story I heard, but I’m really not sure what. I’ll try to figure that out before making any further attempt to sound silly for no good reason.
I thought it was a good PC. They answered questions about the KM Mulkey announcement, Karen leaving Texas, and why Karen was the choice about as well as they could. The answers won’t change the minds of people who already felt strongly otherwise. But, I don’t think they could have been answered any better.
I like the idea of embracing the ex-players as part of the family. It has felt like that was something that was missing.
I couldn’t really hear the questions very well……it sounded like Karen said that she did not have her staff fully in place but was quickly working on that…….anybody hear that differently?

Maybe she did answer a question about staff, then. You're right, it was hard to hear the questions, but I thought the question you're referring to was about the incoming recruits, and not being able to talk with them until the official announcement had taken place. I did like that she said the first order of business was to talk with the two recruits for next year, and to make certain they were both still committed to the program.
